XL: Man's hand. XXL: Large man's hand. Measurements in cm are taken internally. It is very important that there is air around the fingers, so you have free movement inside the mitten. If the mitten is too tight around the hand, it will have a cooling effect rather than a warming one. Measurements should be taken from your middle fingertip, to approx. 5 cm up the hand from the wrist bone. The width should be measured across the hand at the base of the thumb.
